One more day until this week is over!  Here are some hot topics your friends might be discussing today… now you won’t be out of the loop.

Facebook Bought WhatsApp for $19 Billy in Priciest Acquisition Yet
WhatsApp — the messaging service that takes the place of traditional text messages — without the wireless provider fee, has officially been bought up by Facebook after months of industry speculation.  Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg knows this acquisition makes Facebook and WhatsApp users nervous, though, so he clarified, “Since WhatsApp and [Facebook] Messenger serve such different and important users, we will continue investing in both.” This keeps Facebook relevant, for now.

Two Men Save Deer on Ice, and GoPro Capitalizes
After seeing a Facebook post by a local Minnesota news station about stranded deer on the icy Albert Lea Lake in Freeborn County, a man and his father took off to save them.  The deer were reportedly stranded for a few days, but the men found them and saved them. They shot the experience using an HD Hero3 camera, and not long after, it became an ad for GoPro.  Convenient?

Doctors can’t calculate her IQ yet, but they’re guessing around 160–the same as Einstein and Steven Hawking.

Philip Seymour Hoffman Wants His Son Raised in Manhattan
Apparently, PSH really loved New York.  His last known will just revealed that he wants his only son raised in or near the “borough of Manhattan,”  so he can experience “the culture, arts, and architecture” the city has to offer… however, he’d also accept Chicago or San Francisco as an alternative.  Los Angeles?  Not even mentioned.
