School Bans Boy From Using My Little Pony Lunch Bag
Grayson Bruce, a 9-year-old My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fan, has been banned by his North Carolina elementary school from using his Rainbow Dash reusable lunch bag. School admins say Bruce carrying the lunch bag is a bully magnet that leads to class disruptions. “They’re taking it a little too far, with punching me, pushing me down, calling me horrible names, stuff that really shouldn’t happen,” Bruce told Asheville, North Carolina ABC affiliate WLOS. His mom has started a Facebook campaign and is fighting the school to place responsibility on the bullies–she already has over 26,750 followers.


Astronomers Have Detected the Start of the Big Bang
Scientists were over the moon this week when a telescope at the South Pole discovered the existence of gravitational waves, which Einstein predicted, supporting the idea that the universe started rapidly expanding at the beginning of time. Apparently this is a huge deal, some saying it could be one of the greatest scientific discoveries in the last 20 years. More to surely come with this news.


LA News Anchor Shows His “Quake Face,” Becomes Instant Meme
Los Angeles news anchor Chris Schauble of KTLA was not ready for the 4.4 earthquake that shook things up yesterday–and his reaction immediately went viral. Locals say he beat old-time LA anchorman Kent Schocknek for funniest on-air earthquake reaction. Schauble is taking it in stride… even changing his profile pic on Twitter.
