While the Sochi Olympics Opening Ceremonies happen tonight, competition officially started yesterday. Rumors are really flying around, too. As I predicted a couple days ago, the Olympic Village is taking a few knocks for not being 100 percent complete yet. Damning photos (some real, some Photoshopped) of athletes’ restrooms have been circulating, Russia’s politics have been in the forefront of almost every news story, and attendance to yesterday’s games were dismal (see photo above). Leno Signed Off Last Night for The Final Time (Again)
Call me crazy, but I never had a problem with Leno (whereas most people called him bland and generic). I liked the dark undercurrent of his humor that would pop up here and there. And with that said, it was sad to see him go last night. Lots of people where there to send him off: Oprah, Billy Crystal, Carol Burnett—the old guard—fitting of the occasion. And then there was the tall nerd from “The Big Bang Theory” and a Kardashian. A bit of a mixed bag, but so was Leno’s tenure at “The Tonight Show.” This video shows a great span from the beginning to last night. Photo: Variety
