Farewell, Mickey. The Beloved Actor Dies at 93
Veteran actor Mickey Rooney, a legend in Hollywood for almost the past 80 years, died Sunday at age 93. Having starred in over 200 films, he was well known for both his roles as a young actor in the ‘30s and ‘40s, as well as later films such as Boys Town and The Black Stallion–not to mention his love of the ladies (8 wives at final count). RIP, Mickey–thanks for all the laughs. Photo: Variety Staff
Mazda Recalls 42,000 Cars Because of Spiders in Gas Tanks
Seen this little bugger lately? If you’re a Mazda6 owner, look again—-because it might be in your gas tank. Mazda is recalling 2010-2012 models because yellow sac spiders that are attracted to an ingredient in gasoline could weave a web in your fuel tank hose, blocking air and possibly causing a fire. So if you’re driving one of these, get thee to a dealership pronto.Photo: Getty Images
Biggest Tetris Game Ever Amazes Onlookers in Philly
Philly tech week got off to a crazy start Saturday, with a giant version of the classic video game Tetris being displayed on the side of the 29-story Cira Centre. A local professor hacked into the building’s LED light system to create it, and people could even play in real time using remote joysticks. Nice way to spend a Saturday night!
