Upcycled Sweater Scarf

While much of the country is struggling with frigid temperatures, I’ve been busy creating a quick and easy tutorial for a refashioned infinity sweater scarf so you can still look great while staying warm.

Start with any thrift shop sweater with a nice pattern. This sweater was stretched out and misshapen, but that’s all the better for this sweater scarf.

Cut off the arms and the top of the sweater. Save the sleeves for another project.

Turn the sweater inside out.

Straighten up the sides by sewing a seam on each side.

Trim the new seams.

Set your machine to a zig zag stitch and zig zag along the raw edge to keep it from fraying. If you are lucky enough to have a serger, you can serge the edge.

Fold over the raw edge and hand stitch so you won’t see the seam from the other side.

Wrap up in your new infinity sweater scarf and look great while braving the cold.

Stay warm!
