It’s time to break out the flip flops and sunscreen, because summer is here! From backyard barbecues to picnics at the park, I am ready for all things summer…except for the mosquitoes, but I’m not going to think about them. Red, white and blue are a staple of summer celebrations. I love all of the fun cupcake liner wreaths I’ve seen online. I decided to make a patriotic version of these two wreaths just in time for Memorial Day: Cupcake Liner Spring Wreath from The 36th Avenue and DIY Cupcake Wrapper Wreath from The Happiest Home.
Start with a foam wreath and patriotic cupcake liners . Use several kinds of red, white and blue cupcake liners, complete with stars and stripes. I used 64 cupcake liners (16 of each pattern) to complete the wreath.
Cut the cupcake liners and hot glue them to the wreath. Alternate the colors and patterns of the cupcake liners. For an alternate way to attach the cupcake liners be sure to check out the other tutorials: Cupcake Liner Spring Wreath from The 36th Avenue and DIY Cupcake Wrapper Wreath from The Happiest Home.
Hot glue stars to a piece of twine to string across the center of the wreath. I used the stars off the tops of some toothpicks that came with the cupcake liners.
Finally, hot glue a bright red flower on the wreath. Loop a red string around the top of the wreath and it is ready to be hung up for all of your summer celebrations!
