Halloween lollipops

When I was a kid, every year at Halloween we would make lollipop ghosts. We used everything from facial tissue to toilet paper to tissue paper to cover the lollipops. They were so much fun to make. A couple of years ago, I decided to switch things up a bit and instead of making the traditional lollipop ghosts, I made Pumpkin Pops. They were a huge hit. This year, I have come up with three new Halloween characters to add to the ghosts and pumpkins: Frankenstein, bats and mummies!

Things You’ll Need

  • Lollipops
  • Googly eyes
  • Green tissue paper
  • Black tissue paper
  • White tape
  • Green twist ties
  • Glue gun
  • Black paper
  • Scissors

Frankenstein lollipop

To make the Frankenstein lollipops, cut out two 5 1/2-by-5 1/2-inch squares of green tissue paper. Wrap the tissue paper around the lollipop and secure with the twist tie, leaving the ends sticking out. Push up on the twist tie to scrunch up the tissue paper around the lollipop, making it look more square shaped. Glue on two googly eyes and a small scrap of black tissue paper for hair.

Bat lollipop

To make the bat lollipop, cut a pair of bat wings out of the black paper.  Cut out two 5 1/2-by-5 1/2-inch squares of black tissue paper and wrap them around the lollipop. Secure with a dab or two of glue. Glue the wings and the googly eyes onto the lollipop.

Mummy lollipops

To make the mummy lollipop, simply wrap it with white adhesive tape and glue on the googly eyes.

Halloween lollipops

All three Halloween lollipops were so easy to make, and they will be fun to give to the kids! What other Halloween characters or objects could you make?
