I learned this particular method of embossing a long time ago, out of necessity for a project in high school. I have since then revisited it a few times for other projects, and for this shimmery wreath, I’m using it in yet another way.

Things You’ll Need

  • Foil baking sheet or foil oven liner
  • Cutting mat, foam board or magazine
  • Gold spray paint
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun
  • Wooden embroidery hoop or wreath form

step1

Place the baking sheet on a semi-soft surface such as a cutting mat or a magazine. I used a foam board.

Draw simple leaf shapes and flower shapes of various sizes on the baking sheet, or save and print this template. I used a pen.

step2

Carefully cut them out.

step3

Lay the leaves, flowers and form out and spray paint them with your favorite metallic paint. Allow to dry completely.

step4

To form the flowers, cut along the marked lines to the center of the flower.

step6

Fold the petals upward to form a cup shape.

step5

Hot glue leaves around the circumference of the hoop or wreath form. Alternate bigger and smaller leaves as you go along.

Display your newest creation over your mantel, door or wherever you want a little sparkle and glam. I love the versatility of this wreath, as it can be displayed during the fall and through Christmas.
