  • Side Effects of Bulimia

Bulimia, also known as bulimia nervosa, is a psychological eating disorder that is characterized by repeated episodes of binge eating followed by purging in inappropriate and dangerous ways. Purging methods include vomiting, enemas, fasting, prolonged or excessive use of diuretics and laxatives and compulsive exercising. Most people with bulimia experience unreasonable and misplaced concerns about their weight, shape and overall body image. Bulimia has a number of serious side effects.

  • How to Cope With the Effects of Bulimia

Bulimia is when someone binge-eats a few times a day by eating 3,000 to 5,000 calories in one sitting and then tries to get rid of all they've eaten by taking a laxative, vomiting or exercising profusely to burn the calories they consumed. The effects of bulimia take a toll on your physical and mental health.
