At first glance, the small collection of menus, buttons and options that comprise the Microsoft Paint software ribbon may not appear to be enough to create that idealistic Route 66 roadway, crowded festival lawn or rose garden you want to translate to the screen. Microsoft Paint is a lightweight graphic image editor that is installed by default on all Windows operating systems. You can create and edit images in Microsoft Paint. You can draw using the drawing tools, and you can add text in Paint using the “Text” tool. Once you have created your graphic in Paint, you can save the file as a bitmap (BMP), a JPEG (JPG), a Portable Network Graphic (PNG) or several other graphic file types.
Windows 7 comes packaged with a basic graphics editor, called MS Paint. This small program offers several rudimentary tools for creating graphics, such as shapes and lines. By default, Paint creates thin lines when you use the line tool. However, you can have the option of increasing the line thickness by adjusting the stroke size. Paint offers four line thicknesses in total.
