A diorama illustrates a three-dimensional scene. They're typically made inside a box placed on its side. The inner walls of the shoebox depict the background and objects and dolls can be placed inside the box. Dolls are frequently used to depict people. Use real dolls, action figures or paper dolls. Paper dolls are secured to the box with a tab on the doll's feet. The tab is folded at a 45-degree angle relative to the rest of the doll and it's secured to the floor of the diorama with glue or tape.
If your child has an array of favorite dolls and stuffed animals but only one doll bed, she may look to you to help make sure everyone’s comfortable and sleeping tight in the playroom. Rather than purchasing beds and bedding for each doll, you can make customized doll hammocks from fabric or yarn and dowel rods. Let your child help you choose the fabric or yarn so she feels like she’s taking good care of her “babies.”
African rag doll hair can be a big challenge, as it needs to be both curly and substantial enough to last. Luckily, there are so many possibilities for hair styling--up do, down do, braids, hair wrap--that one of them is bound to pique your interest. Rag dolls are versatile enough that, even if the hair is not exactly what you had in mind, it can still be beautiful.
