Becoming an actor in Orlando can be slightly easier than in New York or Los Angeles because the competition is significantly less. In Orlando there exists a big "open casting" system allowing for you to submit yourself or your child without having an agent or manager. Disney Channel also seeks people who can work in a professional environment but come across the screen as more "real."
Acting with your voice requires many of the same skills as film and theatrical acting--most importantly the ability to communicate successfully with an audience. Voice actors rarely receive the acclaim of movie and television actors but it does not mean they are less talented. Cartoons, commercials and books on tape all use voice actors. Voice work is not limited to those with "radio voices." People with all of kinds of voices perform voice acting today.
