  • Signs and Symptoms of Diabetic Shock

Diabetic shock is a serious medical condition affecting persons with diabetes. It occurs when blood sugar levels are too low, usually lower than 50 mg/dl. This can result from too much insulin via an injection or oral dosage. It can also be brought on by emotional or stress reactions. Diabetic shock is more common in people with severe cases of diabetes.

  • Diabetic Shock Symptoms

A dangerous short-term side effect of diabetes is called diabetic shock. Also commonly called "hypoglycemic shock" and "insulin shock," diabetic shock is the result of an excessive drop in blood sugar due to too much insulin. Not all diabetic patients will exhibit all symptoms, so even one symptom of insulin shock should be taken seriously.
