Landrover doesn't list a specific recommendation on how often fuel injectors must be replaced as a regular preventive maintenance project. Depending on the fuel quality, the working environment and the type of use to which the vehicle is subjected, the injectors may last the life of the vehicle or need replacing after only 20,000 or 30,000 miles.

Modern vehicles don't need engine tune-ups as frequently as vehicles did 15 years ago or more. Regardless of how well a vehicle seems to be running, experts advise a tune-up every 100,000 miles, including changing the motor's fuel injectors.

Ive just reached 249 000Km on my TD4 freelander and picked up a bit of a leak on one injector. I have been using the same fuel the entire time (SASOL) and regularly do a Wynns RCP tretment on the fuel system.
