Six to Eight Weeks Before the Wedding is Ideal

Wedding invitations should be sent out as far in advance as six to eight weeks before the wedding. This gives invitees enough time to fix their schedules, make travel arrangements, send you a gift and send an RSVP early---so you also have enough time to do the things necessary on your end.

At Least Four Weeks Before the Wedding

If you don't have the luxury of time, send out your invitations at least four weeks before the wedding to allow guests to fit your affair into their schedules and book accommodations. You may be able to ask for an RSVP only one week before the wedding though, so you'll surely experience some wedding crunch.

Bottom Line

The earlier you send out the invitations, the better. Six to eight weeks in advance is ideal because it gives everyone involved enough time to accomplish their tasks and prepare for the wedding in a relaxed, hassle-free manner.
