Should a Left Eye Dominate Person Shoot a Left Handed Bow?

Selecting a bow depends on if you shoot with one or two eyes open.

You Shoot With One Eye Closed

If you shoot with one eye closed and you sight the target with the other eye, then it makes little to no difference whether your eye and hand dominance match. Therefore, you can choose either a left or right handed bow and adjust your sighting eye accordingly.

You Shoot With Both Eyes Open

If you shoot with both eyes open, your dominant eye will naturally sight the target. Therefore it becomes important to select a bow that matches the sighting eye.

Bottom Line

If you shoot with one eye closed, choose a bow that matches the open eye. Therefore, if you shoot with your right eye open, select a right handed bow. However, if you shoot with both eyes open, choose a bow that matches your dominant eye regardless of hand dominance. So if your left eye is the dominant, sighting eye, choose a left handed bow.
