Is it Good to Exercise During a Water Fast?
-
More Weight Loss
-
In order to loose a pound of fat, your body must burn 3,500 calories. This can come from a food deficit or exercise. When you combine a food deficit with exercise, there is more weight loss. Herbert Shelton, premier fasting doctor, recommends at least light exercise.
Weakness is Common
-
Fasting to Freedom states, "During water fasting, weakness is the normal state and as much rest as possible is advised." Water fasting forces the body to rely on stored energy (fat) and to drastically slow down and detoxify. This can be a draining process, rendering exercise impossible.

Bottom Line
-
Dr. Isabelle A. Moser, author of "How and When to Be Your Own Doctor", recommends very light walking for short distances so that fluid can be moved through the lymph nodes. Otherwise, though, due to the weakened state of the faster, rest is recommended.
