Because most wedding bands need to be ordered, it is a good idea to purchase 6 months in advance. Getting the perfect wedding band takes time, and with ordering, sizing and inscriptions, mistakes can happen. You don't want to find out your wedding bands aren't what you wanted or don't fit the day before your wedding.

Money May Be Tight.

With everything else you're paying for regarding the wedding and honeymoon, you may not have the extra cash to spend 6 months before the wedding. You either want to buy up to a year in advance, so you have more time to pay it off, or you can always buy just before the wedding after some monetary gifts have already come in.
