Does a Landscape Rake Grade Better Than a Box Scraper?
-
A Box Scraper is the Best Attachment for the Job
-
A landscape rake attached to a tractor turns and rakes soil. A landscape rake does not grade as well as a box scraper. Both attachments are intended to make site preparation easy, but each has a specific use. The landscape rake smooths and levels, and is better for moving and raking debris. The box scraper is a finishing tool used primarily for moving and leveling dirt, and for grading.

Do Not Be Picky, Either Attachment Will Do the Job
-
A landscape rake and box scraper are similar. Both attachments spread dirt, remove rocks and level land. Landscape rakes primarily turn soil, break it up and level it. Box scrapers backfill holes and scrape, which turns and breaks up soil. They level as well. Both attachments save you time prepping for planting, landscaping and building. Both are capable of grading at the same level.
Bottom Line
-
Choose the most appropriate attachment for your tractor for site preparation and grading. Although the landscape rake and box scraper are capable of doing very similar work, a box grader is better at grading. For general site work, either tool is better than a hand tool because it can be attached to a tractor to speed up site preparation work.
