How High Should a LCD TV Be
-
Minimize Movement
-
Placing the middle of the LCD TV on the same level as your eyes when you are in your normal viewing position gives you the optimum viewing height. This height minimizes eye and neck movement during viewing. TV cabinets usually place TV screens at this optimum height.
-
Maximize Aesthetics
-
The optimum viewing height might be aesthetically too low for your room. If that is the case, place the TV so that the bottom part of the screen is at seated eye level and the top part of the screen is at standing eye level.
Bottom Line
-
According to the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE), the maximum vertical angle from the seated position to the top of the screen should be at most 35 degrees. The angle from the eye level to the center of the screen should be at most 15 degrees.
