How Often Can I Wash My Miniature Schnauzer Dog?
-
There is Such a Thing as Bathing Too Often
-
Although bathing your dog every time you detect an odor might seem like the easiest thing to do, miniature schnauzers should not be bathed more than once every couple of months.
Bathing schnauzers too frequently can dry out their skin and coats. Frequent bathing actually removes some essential oils in the coat and skin, and likely does more harm than good.
When you do bathe your mini schnauzer, use a shampoo made for dogs (not human shampoo) because the pH of a schnauzer's skin is different than that of human skin.

No One Wants a Stinky Schnauzer
-
Sometimes you can't keep her away from an undesirable playmate and odor-causer. Of course you love your mini schnauzer. But that doesn't mean you love the smell of her coat when Fluffy goes for an impromptu swim in the swamp, or when she rolls around in the remnants of a dead fish. A bath is the most direct way to keep your pet clean and pleasant smelling.
Bottom Line
-
Any schnauzer feels clean enough with a quick tongue licking. To keep your schnauzer's coat smelling fresher longer, consider restricting its access to stinky things, brushing the dog frequently rinsing its coat with water only and/or cutting its hair shorter.
