I have a patch in the middle of my carpet (aprox 14" x 1/2") where the rabbit pulled the threads out of. The backing (weave) is showing and I wondered what the best way to fix it would be. Your help would be much appreciated because we are shortly to move and the landlord won't be happy!

Here's one idea -

You may be able to borrow some carpet fibers from an out of the way area, like in the back of a close or right along a baseboard. Using a tooth pick put a drop of a clear waterproof adhesive on the base of each fiber and attach it to the carpet backing. This process is slow and demanding (you don't want to get glue on any other fibers or you'll end up with a bunch of glued together carpet lumps), but it could save your carpet.

Tried to add this on to the first message but couldn't.

You may be able to find some other ideas in an article I wrote a while ago - check out

That's really appreciated, thanks. Just one more question, what is the best adhesive to use?

'Liquid Nails' makes a clear, waterproof construction adhesive.
