Commercial truck laws in Missouri are simple to comprehend. A major distinction in Missouri trucking law is that of the "commercial zone." Laws are more lax and truck-friendly in these areas. A "commercial zone" is a city of more than 75,000, and two miles outside of the city limits in any direction. Exceptions are St. Louis, where the zone is 18 miles outside, and Kansas City, where it is 12 miles outside the city limits. A commercial zone is also defined as any area that is within two miles of any interstate.
