  • MH941K Barcode Scanner Specifications

The Metrologic MH941 handheld laser scanner, sometimes called the MH941K, is a discontinued bar code scanner that was first manufactured in 1998. A bar code scanner is used to take inventory of products with bar codes or to check out items at the point of purchase in a retail store. The unit connects to a cash register via a 9-pin connector and scans items using a 675 nanometer Class I laser.

  • Barcode Scanner Troubleshooting

Barcode Scanning systems utilize a series of black, horizontal lines--known as Uniform Product Code (UPC)--and interprets these lines based on their density and spacing. Each line and space and density is assigned a value and when put together as a UPC, identifies products and other assigned values, such as price. The UPC is read by a Barcode Scanner that is programmed to the specific codes. If the scanner is not reading the UPCs, there are several ways to troubleshoot the problem and get back on track.
