  • Church Lessons on Being Greedy for Kids

Greed is described as destructive, harmful and sinful in the Christian Bible. Through stories, parables, poems and verses, the Bible tells of the fall of greedy people and the civilizations they build. In Christian day school or Sunday school, Bible stories and reflective activities can teach children what the word "greed" means, how to respond to others who are greedy and how to avoid being greedy themselves.

  • Family Home Evening Ideas on Being Reverent at Church

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS, or Mormon) instituted a program known as family home evening (FHE) 1915. Members of the church are encouraged to set aside one night each week to spend with their families. Family home evenings usually include a lesson on a Gospel principle such as faith or reverence, or on teachings of Jesus Christ or the Prophets. The evening is opened with a hymn and a prayer, the lesson is given and then families often enjoy a treat or activity together. The LDS church sets aside Monday nights for family home evenings.

  • Craft Ideas for LDS Faith in God

The Faith in God program was created for Latter-day Saint children between ages 8 and 11. The program helps them learn and understand the tenets of their faith while preparing them to be faithful adult members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Children must study from a lesson booklet to complete the program, and young girls additionally attend group activities known as "Activity Days." Activity Days give children a chance to learn while having fun. Crafts are a good way to introduce concepts to this age group.

  • Church Stewardship Lesson Activities

Christian stewardship is a concept that is both Biblical and necessary to the survival of the church as an institution. However, stewardship goes beyond the supporting of the church with tithes. It also refers to being good stewards of everything that one has. Many lessons on stewardship center around taking good care of one's money, time and talent, and putting all three to use for God's purposes.

  • LDS Nursery Class Craft Ideas

Bringing a simple craft to your LDS nursery class can help keep those wiggly young children,18 months to three years old, busy and happy, and can help you teach the week’s gospel lesson. The LDS Church encourages sticking with material issued by the church, such as those easily available at lds.org. However, many websites, such as sugardoodle.net, carry LDS-specific ideas, and ideas from general craft-themed websites can be adapted for use in the nursery class.

  • Family Home Evening Ideas for Singles

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or the Mormon church, have a tradition of gathering together as families or small groups on Monday nights to share a fun activity or a spiritual lesson. These "Family Home Evenings" can present a challenge for singles who want to follow the spirit of this tradition but do not have family members readily available. There are many ways, however, that singles can honor the sacredness and value of family and community, even when they live alone.
