Cat water fountains are often used for cats with longer hair, such as Persians. Long-haired cats often get their coats drenched when drinking from a traditional water bowl and a cat water fountain allows long-haired cats to drink and stay dry. Commercial cat water fountains are available at your local pet store, but these are usually expensive and hard to clean. Luckily, with a few supplies, you can make your own cat water fountain for less, and it will be easy to take apart and clean.
There are many water fountains for cats on the market. The Drinkwell pet fountain is one such product, but there are other brands and they come in a variety of designs. Your cat may have a preference as to the function and design of her drinking fountain. Choose carefully so that your cat won't turn up her nose at the fountain and never use it. If your cat likes to drink from a dripping faucet, a drinking fountain may be a good product to try.
There are two organizations that handle the registration of pure bred cats. One is called the Traditional Cat Association, Inc. It began in 1991 and has grown to the largest cat registry in the world. The North American Purebred Cat registry is run by the same group that organized the highly successful North American Purebred Dog Registry. You can register all breeds of Purebred cats with the NAPCR.
