The Celsius temperature scale places 0 degrees at the point where water freezes, but the Fahrenheit scale sets 0 much colder, so that water actually freezes at 32 degrees F. As a result, there is a whole range of temperatures that are above zero in the Fahrenheit system but below zero in Celsius. And at one specific temperature, the Fahrenheit measurement is the same number above zero as the Celsius measurement is below zero.
