Kittens like to explore with their mouths, whether they're sampling the latest delicacies in a food dish or wrapping their gums around an electrical cord. Naturally, there are some things in your home that you don't want little ones nibbling on, and the key to training your kitten to stop is starting early and being consistent. By employing a little strategy, you can ensure that she gets the idea early in life and doesn't develop bad habits.
GM and other manufacturers had a brainstorm during the late 1980s -- installing a resistor in a vehicle's key to act as a second layer of security in addition to the physical lock cylinder. And it works well, when it does work -- and when you have the original key. But keys and cars don't always travel together and getting a matching key can be expensive. So you've got two options: you can bypass the whole system, or you can test the sensor to get its r-code and the right key.

Panniers, or saddlebags, were once a simple method for horse-borne riders to carry necessities over long distances. While modern civilization no longer relies on true horse power for transportation, the need to ride has been satisfied by steeds of steel and chrome. The Dyna Wide Glide has been one of the most prominent steeds in Harley-Davidson's stable since its introduction in the late 1970s. However, the Wide Glide comes with few amenities in regard to luggage carrying capabilities. Luckily, Harley-Davidson offers several saddlebags for the Wide Glide, ranging from a simple throw-over type set to a more permanently installed saddlebag…
A new Harley-Davidson motorcycle begs to be ridden, but simply jumping on a new bike and riding without a plan for properly breaking in the new engine can lead to long-term mechanical problems. An engine that is not correctly broken in can be subject to premature component failure, excessive oil consumption and inadequate power production. Harley-Davidson provides guidance for optimal break-in procedures, and its dealers get the process started, but the bulk of the responsibility for a new engine's break-in lies with the bike's owner.
A paper monster action figure can make a great gift for a special child in your life. Find out how to make a paper monster action figure with help from an experienced teacher in this free video clip.
Harley-Davidson is a U.S.-based motorcycle manufacturer. Typically, it is easy to find Harley-Davidson parts for purchase if the factory part number is available, but less so when only the model year and bike description is known. Workshop manuals are usually held by reputable agents and service locations; the staff may be prepared to look up a part number.
Filters are electronic circuits that allow signals of some frequencies to pass through them while blocking other frequencies. They include high-pass filters, low-pass filters and band-pass filters. Op-amps (operational amplifiers), along with other other components such as resistors and capacitors, can be used to build different kinds of filter circuits.
"Star Trek Armada" is a real-time strategy computer game available for Windows. Some of the game's cheat codes, such as the code for better resources and transporters and the code for invincibility, can only be applied by making changes to the game's "rts_cfg.h" file. The file, located in the "Program Files" section of the computer, contains some of the game's data, including the amount of damage your character takes and the number of people your transporters can carry, and can be edited just like any text-based file.
Whether a Harley-Davidson Sportster is right off the showroom floor or a 1966 Classic model, having the vehicle identification number is mandatory in the United States if buying or selling the bike. Because VINs were not also stamped on frames until 1970, there's no sure way to prove the engine on an older Harley is original to the bike. However, identifying an authentic '66 Sporty engine is pretty straightforward, as the VIN is easily accessed and contains only eight or nine characters. The only real effort may be to give it a quick wipe with a shop rag.
Fairylite is a manufacturer that made vintage figurines in the early 20th century. The figurines were manufactured in the Orient and distributed around the world. The artists who painted the figurines were hired as vendors, as the figurines were shipped out to be hand painted. The figurines' hand painted charm was one of the more distinguishable and desired characteristic of the Fairylite products.
Throughout history countries in Asia have contributed to the gemstone trade. Chinese jade and the famed rubies of Myanmar are only two of the many examples of gemstones mined in Asia. Precious and semi-precious stones from Asia are formed beneath the Earth's surface and are prime examples of the variability and beauty existing in nature.
Harley-Davidson used the Mikuni carburetor prior to the use of the KeiHin constant velocity carburetors. Mikuni produced a side-draft, mechanical carburetor that used the traditional fixed-jet system to control fuel flow. A butterfly valve linked to the rider throttle control with a second butterfly valve acting as a choke plate controls intake air volume, and a float-and-needle valve assembly regulates fuel height in the bowl. Problems with any of the internal parts can lead to poor performance or a non-running condition. Inspect the carburetor for problems once it has been removed from the engine.
Harley-Davidson publishes well-defined maintenance schedules and service intervals in every service manual. The maintenance schedule is based on years of experience with the product and is designed to keep the bike operating at peak efficiency while maintaining the safety of the rider. Properly following the service intervals and performing the maintenance will help prevent costly engine damage and unsafe riding conditions. The maintenance schedule is the same across the recent model families and years, although the actual procedures will vary depending on year, model and engine family.

Posters are inexpensive ways to decorate a bedroom, office or classroom. Most people hang posters with tape or thumbtacks, which can damage them. If you have a poster you'd like to keep in good condition and reuse, there are several inexpensive methods at your disposal that will keep it undamaged and ready for hanging.
Harley-Davidson uses a gear-type oil pump to feed the bearings and bushings in the engine of the 1972 Sportster. The pump supplies low-pressure, high-volume oil flow through the various oil passages within the block, then returns the oil to the oil reservoir. A newly rebuilt engine will not have oil in the bearings or bushings, and the forces generated within the engine by the rotating and reciprocating parts can damage the new bearings and journals. The engine must be thoroughly primed with oil before running.
Carrying a Harley-Davidson motorcycle in a trailer that's built specifically for carrying a bike is easy. Carrying a Harley in a trailer that has a flat or corrugated floor, perhaps with walls around it -- or not -- is a minor challenge. You can meet the challenge with cargo straps, if the trailer has at least four D-rings evenly spaced along each side.
The amp meter, or ammeter, on some Harley-Davidson motorcycles gauges the flow of electricity through the motorcycle's electrical system. Unlike a voltmeter, which measures the voltage output produced by the battery and charging system, an amp meter provides a closer look at the actual flow of power both to and from the charging system. Though the constant movement of the amp meter's indicator needle can appear alarming, it is normal and will give you a better idea of your motorcycle's bill of health.
Harley-Davidson FLHTC motorcycles come equipped with a fairing and windshield assembly attached to the front forks. This assembly provides protection for the rider from the elements while driving, as well as from airborne particulates such as bugs and rocks. The fairing houses the wiring harnesses for the instrumentation, lighting, control switches and FM radio. Remove the fairing to access these harnesses.
Many Harley-Davidson FL family models come equipped with stock auxiliary lamps -- or passing lamps -- mounted to the front forks. Other models may have them added as optional equipment. The auxiliary lights increase the forward light output and increase visibility for the rider. Aim auxiliary lights relative to the headlight to prevent blinding oncoming traffic and increase road illumination immediately in front of the bike.
Harley-Davidson uses a mutual induction-type coil in all its models. The coil consists of a primary winding, which receives power from the ignition circuit and is controlled by the crankshaft position sensor, and a secondary winding, which steps up the voltage in the primary windings through mutual induction, and delivers this power to the spark plugs. Insulation breakdown of the internal windings is the main cause of coil failure. Test the coil after it has been removed from the bike.
The "Ant Bully" game is a video game based on the movie "Ant Bully." In this game you must play as the character Lucas, a human boy who has been shrunk by ants because he was destroying their colonies. You must learn how to live as an ant in order to get back to human size and be allowed to go home. One of your first challenges to live as an ant is to collect pupas and deposit them in the processing area.
One of the changes Harley Davidson introduced to its bikes in the 1980s involved the way that engines were mounted on the frames. Before this time, all models had the engines rigidly bolted directly to the frame. The company then started to experiment with rubber isolation mounts between the engine and the frame. What started as a limited experiment on the touring models grew to a method used for mounting the majority of Harley engines.
The stator is an integral part of your Harley-Davidson Softail motorcycle's charging system, generating an electrical field that is manipulated by a rotating magnetic flywheel to generate an alternating electrical current. A short circuit or a sudden spike in electrical current caused by a failed voltage regulator can damage the tightly wound copper coils that surround the stator, reducing its ability to power the charging system. To replace the stator, the Softail's primary drive system must be partially disassembled, using a variety of specialized tools. Additionally, the voltage regulator should be replaced at the same time to avoid future problems.
Harley-Davidson used a turn signal module to control the turn signal functions on the 2009 Heritage Softail model. The TSM receives input from the turn signal switches, and controls power flow to the front and rear turn signals. A built-in bank angle sensor determines when the bike has completed a turn and automatically cancels the turn signal. A 15-amp fuse located in the fuse box under the seat protects the turn signal circuit. A failure in either of these components can cause the turn signals to stop working.
Whether you choose to use apples, peach or pears, a jar of preserved fruit can provide a delicious homemade snack or side dish that lasts far longer than the original fruit. If you decorate it to look like a homestyle product of many years ago, it can also serve as a unique and beautiful homemade gift.
People who are on the go don't always have the room in their suitcases, briefcases, backpacks or purses to lug around heavy, bulky bibles. A convenient and efficient solution for those who want to read The Bible anyplace, anytime, is to download the Jairus Visual Bible -- a biblical software program stored on computers, tablet computers or even smartphones. Users of the program have access to The Bible to read at their leisure. It's also possible to edit the Jairus Visual Bible to use for academic or scholarly lectures.
Anyone who's spent any amount of time on a Harley-Davidson's passenger seat knows a backrest can make the open road that much more enjoyable. However, many Harley-Davidson riders prefer the clean lines of their motorcycles without backrests. To provide the best of both worlds, Harley-Davidson offers an easily removable backrest that can be detached in seconds without tools. Installing a quick-release backrest requires an additional kit that provides the necessary docking bobbins to secure the backrest to the rear fender supports. Installation is fairly straightforward, but requires some familiarity with your motorcycle's rear fender and electrical system.
Maximizing the life and performance of the 1998 Harley-Davidson Softail Heritage Spring hinges on the adherence to a strict maintenance routine. Harley-Davidson provides a detailed list of scheduled maintenance procedures that must be performed every 2,500 miles, with additional procedures required every other 2,500-mile interval. These procedures extend beyond a basic oil and filter change and are intended to keep the entire motorcycle in its peak operating condition.
Harley-Davidson motorcycles in the 1950s featured a wide range of colors, including two-tone schemes for its flathead, panhead and three-wheel Servi-Car models. Civilian W and WL series flatheads numbered about four with at least four Servi-Car versions and a handful of U.S. and Canadian Army bikes. Production for variants of the panhead EL series ran until 1952, with FL variants produced throughout the decade. Big Twin engines powered the panheads and flatheads.
In the post-AMF ownership era, Harley-Davidson motorcycles have undergone a reinvention that has primarily been aimed at bringing the design and onboard technology up to a par with European and Japanese market rivals. This has resulted in a far more technologically advanced machine than that which initially made the marque so popular. Nonetheless, basic user maintenance is still possible, for which a relatively simple toolkit will suffice.
Bibles can see a lot of use in households with students or anyone who is serious about learning biblical scriptures. It's not unusual, then, that the cover may need replacing. You can replace a worn out cover with a new, soft leather one that will last for a long time.
Shoebox rooms — or shoebox dioramas — are tiny, self-contained glimpses into a still-life scene. Every once in a while, elaborate dioramas designed by professional artists crop up at a fundraising auction; but you’re much more likely to encounter this art form as part of a child’s homework assignment. Not only are shoebox rooms good art projects, they also give kids a way of visually expressing what they’ve learned in history class, depicting a scene from their favorite book or illustrating an English composition.
Harley-Davidson released a pair of twin-cam motorcycle engines to replace the old twin-cam 88 line. The 96 and 96B engines have much in common, but there are a few key differences, including the bikes on which the engines come standard. The 96 engine also is referred to as the 96A engine. Both were released as part of the generation of engines following Harley-Davidson's Evolution line.

LeCoultre Atmos clocks have been available since 1939 and continue to intrigue collectors in retail and secondary markets. The quality clocks were invented by Jean-Leon Reutter of France in 1927, but production of the Atmos II didn't take place until 1939. The date a LeCoultre Atmos clock was made can help you determine its value. A serial number can be used to date a vintage LeCoultre Atmos clock, and a repair technician may locate a date on a clock's bellows -- the bowl shape on the back that acts as a motor. Each clock is sealed and works on changes…
Old windows in buildings are often identifiable by the lack of transparency in the glass. The glass has a wavy appearance and distorts the images viewed through it. It may also have taken on a cloudy haze or be marked by spots like pits and scratches. All these characteristics tell a story both of the era in which the window was made, and the elements it has been subjected to over the years.
Quoting a biblical scripture in an essay is no more difficult than quoting any other book. Although essay writers often choose to add Bible verses to the beginning or end of their essays, it's not a steadfast rule. A Bible verse can be added in the essay wherever needed. How you cite the Bible in the essay and in the references section depends on if you're using the Modern Language Association, also known as MLA, or American Psychological Association, or APA, stye.
The use of your KitchenAid gas cooktop depends on your ability to ignite the gas into a flame. If yours won’t light, it could be anything from a problem with the electricity intake to the gas intake. KitchenAid will send someone out to make a service call if you’re having trouble, but the cost of that visit can vary depending on the problem and the status of your warranty. To avoid that cost, check some of the basic ignition problems before calling for service.
Manga is a term that refers to Japanese comic books, which are often drawn in a distinctive black-and-white art style. LiveJournal users scan and post pages from manga comics on their journal or in LiveJournal fan groups, allowing other visitors to view the scanned pages. If you want to color a scanned page someone has posted on LiveJournal, you must download the page as an image file on your computer and edit the image in a graphics program.
Bibles often have thin, fragile pages that rip easily. Common solutions include either using archival document repair tape or Japanese paper with adhesive paste. Use the archival tape if the ink on the page is not water soluble, which can be checked by applying a wet Q-tip to the ink on the page. Keep in mind that Japanese paper comes in different weights and sizes, and you should determine which type to best fit the torn page.
Harley-Davidson Springer Softail models use an opposed, tapered roller-bearing system to support the forks in the steering head. Springer forks are a predecessor to the common modern hydraulic fork. Modern technology and engineering have improved the Springer forks to make them a viable alternative suspension system, and they lend a nostalgic appearance to the motorcycle. In spite of the benefits of modern engineering, however, Springer forks transmit a considerable amount of shock and stress to the steering head, necessitating a shorter service interval of 2,500 miles, as opposed to the 10,000-mile service interval for hydraulic forks.
In 1892, Webster Marble started Gladstone Manufacturing Co. in Gladstone, Michigan, to produce his universal rifle sight, the first of his many inventions. Marble also designed and manufactured compasses, matchboxes and pocket axes, but his hunting knives are his most significant invention to collectors of vintage knives. The characteristics of vintage Marble knives were original to the cutlery industry and would become the standard in producing quality outdoor knives.
A snow globe is a wonderful Christmas gift that simulates a scene of falling snow when you shake it. Mostly we buy them from shops, but with a few household items such as plastic pots, glitter and felt, they can be made at home. Perhaps most fun for kids is a snow globe pencil topper.
Collection action figures is a compromise; action figures are more valuable if kept in their original packaging but most collectors want to at least view the collection rather than simply storing the packages in a closet or storage bin. One way to display a collection without removing the action figures from their packaging is to hang the figures, packaging and all, on the wall.
The first decades of the 20th century marked a heyday for American pottery manufacturers, due to the continued popularity of the American Arts and Crafts Movement. In the early 1930s, an entrepreneur named George Rumrill partnered with Ohio ceramics giant Red Wing to produce a highly decorative line of art pottery under the name "RumRill." According to RumRill expert Francesca Fisher, after this partnership dissolved in 1938, RumRill continued to be produced by companies such as Shawnee Pottery, Florence Pottery and Gonder Ceramic Arts. RumRill continued to be produced until the death of George Rumrill in 1943.
Minitab is a statistical analysis package for Windows that has been in production since 1972. It uses a spreadsheet-style interface and can run a wide range of univariate and multivariate analyses, including the one-way ANalysis Of VAriance (ANOVA). ANOVA is a statistical procedure used to compare the means of three or more groups of data, and in Minitab, this analysis can be run through the graphical user interface.
