Zombie Hair

Part the hair on top and at the sides just behind the ear.

Split the back section in half, horizontally. Clip the top half out of your way and put the bottom in a ponytail.

Tuck the ends of the ponytail under the hair tie and secure the loose ends with bobby pins to make a messy bun.

Backcomb a 1" section starting at the top of the crown. Grab the ends of the hair and start combing from the ends all the way down to the scalp.

Take another 1" section

combine it with the last section

and backcomb the 2 sections together.

Spread the hair out over the crown with your fingers but don't bother smoothing it out. The messier this is, the better.

Use bobby pins to hold up the sides, anchoring your pins in the backcombing.

Let down the 2 front sections and spray them with a sea salt texturizing spray

Squeeze the hair in your hands and mangle the ends for texture. It helps to pretend your fighting off a brain-eating zombie attack...gently.

Pick some small, random sections and hold them loosely as you backcomb.

Fray the ends around the face with a little more backcombing.

Use bobby pins to add some debris. Straw is lightweight, fairly obvious, and we had some in the front yard.

Extra styling wax will help make parts of the hair look sticky and gruesome.

Pinch a good amount of wax in to random chunks framing the face.

This is by far the best part. Drip fake blood just inside the hairline so that it runs onto the forehead. Quick drying blood gel sets up nicely but be careful to avoid the eyes.
