Trim the salvage edges from both pieces of fabric.
2.
Lay the fabric down, wrong sides together, and trim to the same size and square.
3.
With a disappearing pen, mark about 4" from the edge on all four sides.

Cut out corners

Either measure about 1 1/2" sections and mark.......

Or make a cardboard template and cut strips through both thicknesses of fabric up to the marked line.
7.
Tie a double knot in each strip being careful not to pull too tight.
Nora drags all her toys to the blanket to play.
