Step One: Cut your newspaper clips and buff your nails. Bigger print works better because it has darker ink.

Step Two: Paint your nails a neutral or pastel shade. Let nails dry. Tip: If nails aren't dry, the paper will stick to your nail bed and you'll have to redo that nail.

Step Three: Dip fingernail in alcohol like vodka, it helps the ink come off the newspaper and imprint on your nails. Gently place the newspaper on the wet nail and press down steadily. Avoid smearing by keeping your hands very still. I would count to about 30 before peeling the newspaper off.

Tip: Use different types of print -- large and small, bold, and a variety of phrases and fonts. Be careful what you clip, too, even though it will appear backwards, you can still read what it says!

We used lilac, baby blue and light gray nail polishes. We found that the lighter the shade, the better.
