I like to use the largest rollers in my crown and the smaller rollers around the perimeter of my hair. You can alternate the sizes throughout or use them at random. It doesn't make a huge difference in the end, but those big, fatty rollers like to fall out if they're on the bottom.

Place two or three rollers in each side section. Try parting the front on a diagonal and roll the curls toward or away from your face.

I LOVE hot rollers. They're quick and easy and I get the most compliments on my hair when I've rolled it.
I've been using Conair curler set since I was about 10, I'm 33 now, and I've owned about 3 sets in that time. I think it's a great and affordable brand that works and lasts.
Also, I noticed the author did this, and it's important to mention: Use the "U" shaped pins to secure the rollers at the front because the plastic clips can leave a crimp which is noticeable at the front.
Also, I really never use product with rollers, maybe just a thermal cream/spray to protect the hair before I put the rollers in, I think it depends on your hair.
I'm gonna go set my hair now...

I've been using hot rollers of every style, type, size since the 70's & they are wonderful but it's not necessary to "section" off hair, use a comb, wrap hair & figure out what look you like, want, need & you can set hair in 2-3 minutes & cool for 5 minutes while brushing teeth & hair is done. Don't make a simple job harder............KISS !! (Keep it simple stupid is my motto!)

They look like the ones I just bought at Sophora. They come in different sizes.

Thanks for the how to and great pictures! This will help lots of people. I have a Conair compact set from the big discount store and was only about $15. They take a bit to warm up, maybe 8+ minutes, but they work great. Just like the ones my mom had in the 70's 80's! I agree with Paula, you don't have to fuss much with parting and planning, just get em in there and when you unroll, you'll have smooth yummy curls. I'm going to get the plastic clips they look lots easier. Dawn

Nice job but I also agree with Paula Owens. You really don't have to be that precise with hot rollers. As for the clips, I use the regular hair holding clips like we all use to keep our hair up on a bad hair day. The kind you get at local discount stores like Target/Walmart. I have found they work best for me and they are fairly cheap. My biggest problem is Im

I'm allergic (have a bad reaction) to hair styling products. So by mid-day my beautiful bouncy curls have gone straight. Even a body perm has never helped hold curls.
