1.
Start with the Oil Mixture. Make sure all areas and equipment are sterilized and you have all ingredients out that you will need. Pour the butter and oils and emulsifying wax directly into the pot (double boiler or slow cooker) by weight.
3.
While the Oil Mixture is melting, prepare for the Emulsion stage. This is when you blend together the Oil and Water Mixtures and add remaining ingredients. Again, make sure all equipment and containers are sterilized and handy.
4.
Weigh and combine distilled water and glycerin for the Water Mixture while the Oil Mixture is still heating. Cover and heat until about 125 degrees.
5.
Once Oil Mixture is just completely melted (about 130 degrees), you are ready to combine with the Water Mixture in the Emulsion stage.
6.
Pour the Oil Mixture into the blending beaker and add in the Water Mixture as you blend with the stick blender. You now have cream! Once it is below 120 degrees add in scent(s), anti-oxidants, and preservative.
7.
Allow cream to cool slightly and hand stir to remove any air bubbles. Pour into your containers and allow to cool to room temperature.
9.
Label, weigh, and seal jars. We always include a fresh Batch Number!
