Use a citrus juicer or reamer to squeeze the juice from several large lemons (I needed 4) to get 1 cup of fresh lemon juice.

Make simple syrup by dissolving 1 cup white sugar in 1 cup boiling water. Let it cool a bit, then pour into a pitcher.
3.
Strain the lemon juice to remove the seeds (or just scoop out with a spoon), then add 1 cup lemon juice to the simple syrup and stir.
