Cut the sides of the t-shirt up to the sleeves. Then cut off the sleeves close to, and including, the seams.
2.
On the front of the t-shirt, mark and cut the shape of the bib. To make the curves even, I cut half of the bib, then folded it over and cut the other half.
3.
Cut the tags from the neck. Open the shirt out flat, then cut the back along the neck and shoulder seams.
4.
Following the manufacturers' instructions for fusible web, cut and apply a piece to the inside of the front, taking care to keep the fabric smooth. Don't remove the backing yet.
5.
With right sides together, pin the front to the back, starting at the shoulder seam. Sew a 1/2" seam around the bib from shoulder to shoulder.
7.
Peel off backing from web. The web will be sticky, so gently turn the bib right-side out. Use your fingers to push open the curves from the inside to give the bib the proper shape, then smooth out any wrinkles on both sides.
8.
Set your iron according to the fusible web instructions, and iron the bib from the back side. NOTE: the printing on many t-shirts does not iron well. Always iron on the wrong side or the print could melt, smear or stick to your iron.
10.
Turn the raw neck edge and pin it just under the original neckline. Stitch the neck back to the neckline, either by hand or by machine. I used my sewing machine and the same contrasting color thread that I'll be using on the edges.
11.
Open the bias tape and pin it around the outside edge of the bib, starting at the center back and making sure that the bib edge is tucked securely into the fold of the tape to give it a smooth and even look. Stitch the bias tape to the bib about 1/4-inch from the inside edge.

"Love my special Bib-Tee, Mommy! It's so soft, I can even wipe my own face."
Big Sister's favorite old t-shirt is now a cute little bib for her new sibling. And the soft, stretchy neckline means easy-on, easy-off...no fiddling with ties, snaps or scratchy velcro.
Years of iconic events like rock concerts, charity walks, exotic vacations and cool restaurants have left us with bags of branded t-shirts. Most don't get worn but many carry sentimental value and great memories. What to do with all those t-shirts?
