Neah Bay, located at northwestern tip of Washington and the continental United States, is the state's most important location for charter halibut fishing, according to the Northwest Fisheries Science Center. Recreational anglers also find success fishing for salmon, and bottomfish such as ling cod. Neah Bay is located within the Makah Indian Reservation, with 794 permanent residents, according to the 2000 Census.
Tampa Bay is a well-known fishing destination. With dozens of charter captains ready to aid the first-timer or the experienced fisherman, non-residents generally don't need to get a license to go for a big catch. Experienced fishermen who want to take their own boat will find plenty of spots to hunt for fish, and there is an abundance of piers and shorelines where landlubbers can drop a line.

Finding flounders in bays along the Gulf Coast is a relatively simple process in the late spring and late fall. Flounder are more prone to strike anything they can swallow, any time of the day, than other game fish. This is due to the fact that they position themselves on the bottom and wait for dinner to come within striking distance. They do not swim in schools.
