Basketball Throws

Under the standard rules for basketball, every change of possession begins with a throw-in. Using a throw-in, a player stands outside the out-of-bounds line and tries to toss the ball to one of the players on his or her team, while avoiding letting an opponent take possession. While the particular rules will vary depending on your league, there are some basic rules to understand that govern the inbounding (the "throw in") of the basketball.
