Golfer's elbow is a form of tendonitis that affects the inside of the elbow. The medical term for this condition is medial epicondylitis and it is a very common injury among golfers. Although it is called golfer's elbow, this condition can also affect baseball players, tennis players, and non-athletes such as gardeners, carpenters and construction workers. Tasks that put stress and strain on the arm muscles and tendons can cause golfer's elbow.
The shoulder is heavily relied on when the arm goes through a throwing motion. Shoulder injuries among baseball players are common, especially pitchers, because players are almost always throwing just about as hard as they can.
