    South Carolina, one of the original 13 colonies, has vast differences in topography from the coastline with it's many salt marshes to the Blue Ridge Region and the Sandhills Region, comprised of coastal dunes. The state is home to several major lakes and a variety of state parks, wildlife management areas, and public lands which feature ATV trails.
