Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs can subject you to severe penalties in the state of Arkansas. The state of Arkansas has driving laws that make it illegal to drive a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Such drugs include barbiturates, tranquilizers, amphetamines and marijuana. Any driver with a BAC (blood alcohol concentration) of more than 0.08, or 0.02 for people under 21, will be arrested for DUI and subject to a fine and/or probation, license suspension and/or jail, ignition lock, community service and substance abuse treatment.
