Prepare to be amazed by beautiful views, meet physical and mental challenges and discover what you're made of through the sport of outdoor rock climbing. Multi-pitch climbs entail the climbing of two or more pitches, which is the distance climbed between two anchors. Usually the lead climber, the first one to ascend the rock face, will set up a top-rope anchor for the next climber to climb the pitch. There are several ways, many of which are situationally dependent, to set up an anchor while at the top of a climb.
Raspberries, sometimes called caneberries, are not only a delicious sweet fruit, they are a nutritious source of vitamins, fiber, minerals and antioxidants. Raspberries make delicious jellies and jams, fruit smoothies, yogurt and cereal toppers, pies and sorbets. Growing them in the garden provides a fresh source of healthy fruit. They grow on canes with thorns and prickles which have an aggressive and sprawling growth habit. It keeps plants healthier and is easier to prune plants and harvest berries when raspberry plants are supported by a sturdy trellis.

A water slide is a fun accessory for the hot summer months, but can be potentially dangerous if it is not set up correctly. Setting up a tall pool slide or inflatable slide is best left to the professionals, while backyard slides you pick up at the store are likely safe for home use. Of course, in order to enjoy the water slide, you will need to first make it slippery.
Setting up a permanent boat anchor to provide yourself with a spot to moor your boat saves the time you'd spend anchoring. With a mooring anchor set in place with a buoy above it to which you can tie your boat, you have little to do: You pull up to the mooring buoy and tie off to it, rather than lowering your anchor and hoping it digs into the bottom. A 60-pound mushroom anchor is sufficient for most boats in protected waters. An orange, spherical Norwegian buoy to mark the anchor and some rope that floats complete the "parking place."
Few--aside from the steadfast arctic gaze of Northern Siberia--know the true origin of dog sledding. A recent DNA analysis performed at the University of California credits this to the "intervening in the breeding patterns" by humans, which escalated domesticity of dogs over 15,000 years ago. Unlike traditional modern day-sled dogs, which have strayed very little from their original genes, sled designs have changed with the pace of technology.
Dock bumpers are made from vinyl or rubber and are attached to the edges of piers to help prevent damage to the edges of dock boards when boats approach and land at the dock. You should always hang your own boat bumpers ("fenders") over the side of your boat before going into a dock to protect the side and rails of your boat, since the dock bumper is more for protecting the dock owner's investment.
River anchors are lightweight mushroom anchors. The procedure for setting a river anchor is essentially the same as for setting an anchor on any other body of water. The hazard involved in setting up a river anchor properly is that the anchor may snag on trash at the bottom, leaving you anchored to a washing machine or a rusting car hulk instead of the river bottom. Using proper anchoring techniques will help you overcome this problem and give you an afternoon or evening of ease while "hanging on the hook."
