Yoga exercises provide benefits for people of all ages and levels. Yoga stretches and strengthens muscles and, in certain classes, can be an aerobic workout. Yoga exercises are poses, or asanas, meant to increase flexibility. Yoga may seem daunting at first glance, but there are just as many easy exercises are there difficult ones. Yoga is for everyone, including "seniors or those with medical problems," reports the Cleveland Clinic. Yoga exercises include core, standing, seated and restorative poses as well as forward bends, inversions and backbends. Familiarize yourself with some beginner and advanced yoga exercises discussed below.
