Starting Salaries of an Engineering Manager
An engineering manager is not a typical engineer in that he manages other engineers. Therefore this position usually is not available straight out of college, often you must pay your dues as an engineer first. Engineering managers spend time dealing with industrial customers and suppliers that sell design equipment to the engineering manager's company. So the engineering management pay scale is a combination of the management range and the engineering range.
