Tennessee Grants for the Arts
Grants for the arts are available in Tennessee in the visual arts, the literary arts, and the performing arts. The Tennessee Arts Commission makes grants to nonprofit organizations and also awards individual artist fellowships. The East Tennessee Foundation awards two-year grants for projects that promote the arts and arts education in their 25-county service area. Tennessee Arts Commission Nonprofit Grants

Grants can be obtained for the performing arts as well as the visual arts. The Tennessee Arts Commission makes grants to Tennessee-chartered nonprofit organizations that produce and present the arts. Grants must be matched by the recipient one to one with private sector dollars. Grants are awarded in several categories, including Art Access, Arts Education, and Arts Project Support. Generalized art grants are also awarded to well-established arts organizations under the Major Cultural Institution grant category. Individual Fellowships

The Tennessee Arts Commission offers Individual Artist Fellowship Awards. Fellowships of $5,000 are awarded to artists who live and work in Tennessee, with no requirement for matching funds. The East Tennessee Foundation administers an arts fund grant program, awarding two-year grants to projects such as exhibits, festivals, and performances. The grants are made in three categories: Arts in Education, Community Cultural Projects, and Arts Organizations. The Arts Funds Grants must be matched dollar to dollar by the recipient. CreateHere is a nonprofit organization in Chattanooga, Tennessee, that offers individual grants to emerging and established artists through its MakeWork program. Awards of up to $15,000 are made in career advancement, studio assistance, and project grants categories. Tennessee and the NEA
