The New York-White Plains-Wayne, NY-NJ area has the very highest average salary of $122,970 followed by $107,740 on average for art, drama and music teachers in California's Bakersfield-Delano area. However, gains may be offset by increased living costs.
Art, drama and music teachers who work at junior colleges earn the highest average income of $74,020 per year. Most art teachers work at colleges, universities and professional schools where they make $72,610 on average. Teachers at trade and technical schools make the least. They receive around $53,090 per year.
