When most people think of models they think of leggy supermodels strutting their stuff down the runway. However, there are a wide variety of modeling jobs that are available to models of all shapes and sizes. There are many different types of modeling jobs beyond those that are commonly thought of by the public.

High Fashion Modeling

High fashion modeling includes modeling dresses for the large and important fashion houses and influential designers in the fashion world. High fashion modeling can include both runway work and print work, with models appearing in runway shows for designers and also being featured in photographic spreads covering the clothing lines of influential fashion houses. High fashion modeling jobs can be very lucrative, and are regarded as some of the most coveted types of modeling jobs.

Catalog Modeling

Unlike high fashion modeling, catalog modeling does not generally involve runway work. Instead, catalog models are hired for photographic shoots for clothing ads that will appear in catalogs. Catalog models are generally considered to have a less controversial look than high fashion models, and are also generally not paid as much as high fashion models.

Body Parts Modeling

Body parts modeling jobs are some of the modeling jobs that are not thought of when people think of modeling. Body parts modeling consists of having a single body part---usually a hand or foot---photographed for an ad or campaign. Body parts modeling is a great resource for those who are gifted with elegant hands or feet. If you are considering a career as a body parts model you should keep in mind the fact that a body parts model will need to have nearly perfect features in the area that they model in. A foot model must have unblemished feet with no imperfections.

Child Modeling

There are countless modeling jobs available for cute kids. Most companies that make children's clothing are in constant need of child models, and because children inevitably grow up there is an ongoing demand for fresh faces in the world of child modeling. If your child is interested in child modeling there may also be opportunities for your child to book some commercial appearances.

Nude Modeling

Many aspiring models get accidentally sucked into the world of nude modeling. While there is not necessarily anything wrong with nude modeling, it can be very easy to fall in love with this lucrative area of modeling and end up in difficult situations. If you are interested in nude modeling make sure that you fully research the modeling agencies that hire you before you commit to a nude model booking.
