Apple computer company is the original name for Apple Computer, Inc. Apple is a multinational, publicly traded company on the NASDAQ stock exchange with the call sign of AAPL.     • Steven Wozniak and Steve Jobs founded Apple in 1976. The first computer designed and built by Apple was called Apple I and was sold in 1976.
