Memory Foam Vs. Sleep Comfort
Memory foam mattresses, as well as Sleep Comfort mattresses, are mattresses designed to relieve pressure points in the body when laying down. When horizontal, the human body has a very uneven surface. These mattresses, while different, both evenly support your body weight and can provide a comfortable and restful night's sleep. Does this Spark an idea?

Memory Foam
-
Memory foam, also known as visco-elastic polyurethane foam, "is a product originally designed for use in the NASA space program" that has been adapted for modern use in mattresses and pillows. This high-density material is able to absorb motion, allowing one person in the bed to move without disturbing their partner. Memory foam also molds to your body, catering to your specific body shape, and allows your weight to be evenly distributed. Sleep Comfort mattresses have a built-in layer of memory foam on the top surface of the mattress, providing the benefits of memory foam and the company's Sleep Number technology.
Sleep Number Technology
-
According to Select Comfort, which makes the Sleep Comfort line, a Sleep Number setting is a number between zero and 100 that represents the "ideal combination of mattress comfort, firmness and support for your body." This setting for your body is created by a system of air chambers built into the mattress itself, whose pressure can be adjusted with the push of a button. A Sleep Number setting is "a calculation based on your height, weight, sleep position and sleep surface preference" that's designed to fit your sleep experience, allowing you to be comfortable and your body to be supported as much as possible.

Adjustability
-
The two sides of a Sleep Comfort bed can be set to different Sleep Numbers, providing each partner with the ideal amount of air pressure for their body type and sleep position. This feature is found only within Select Comfort beds. Memory foam beds are designed to be firm, yet soft, and to conform to the contours of your body, but their pressure and firmness cannot be adjusted. Memory foam mattresses can. however, be customized if your preference is a particularly firm or soft inner spring mattress.
Mattress Sizes
-
Sleep Comfort mattresses are available in multiple styles, such as the queen size, as well as specialty beds in grand king and expanded queen sizes. The seven different memory foam mattresses types are almost all available in twin, twin extra-long, full, queen, king and California king sizes. Memory foam is also available in mattress toppers in all sizes, designed to sit atop an existing mattress to provide extra support without having to buy a new mattress.
Cost
-
Sleep Comfort mattresses range in cost from $1,000 to $4,300. Memory foam mattresses range from $439 to $2,979 at full price. Memory foam mattress toppers, however, range in price from $89 to $899 for the largest size. All prices are as of July 2010.
