Amazon Credit Card Account Information
The Amazon credit card is a Visa credit card issued by Chase that can be used to make purchases anywhere that Visa cards are accepted, including online retailers. In addition to providing holders with a line of credit, the Amazon Visa card also offers users rewards that they can earn from using the card.

Application
-
The Amazon credit card can be applied for online, directly on Amazon's website. Some Amazon customers may also receive information about the credit card and an application in paper form delivered in the mail. The application can be filled out online and requires the customer to enter information such as his name, address, Social Security number and current income. Applications submitted online are often approved/declined in less than 60 seconds.
Annual Fee
-
The Amazon credit card does not have any annual fee associated with it, so holders are not charged for simply having the card in their possession. Chase does charge an interest fee for balances that are left on the card after a month's time. The interest rate users pay on the Amazon credit card is directly related to their own personal credit rating, and varies from customer to customer.
-
Instant Use
-
The Amazon credit card can be instantly used as soon as a customer has been approved online for the card. Once approved, the Amazon credit card will instantly be added to a customer's Amazon account, allowing him to use the card to make purchases on Amazon instantly. A plastic card will also be sent to the customer's home, typically arriving within a week's time.
Rewards
-
Amazon credit card holders earn points for each dollar that they spend using the card. Points that are earned can then be traded in for a selection of gifts, or for cash. As of July 2010, purchases made at Amazon.com earn customers 3 points, purchases made at gas stations, drugstores and restaurants earn customers 2 points, and purchases made at all other establishments earn customers 1 point. Rewards can begin to be redeemed once a card holder earns 2,500 points (one reward available is a $25 Amazon credit), and $50 cash back is available once the customer reaches 5,000 points.
Amazon
-
The Amazon credit card does not offer customers any direct benefit with Amazon, except instant use of the card for Amazon.com purchases and the ability to earn 3 points for every dollar of purchases on the site rather than the 2 or 1 points earned at other establishments. Those who do not shop regularly at Amazon and who are searching for a rewards card may wish to search elsewhere for a card that will benefit them more.
