  1. About Ohio State Parks

    • Since its creation in 1949, the Ohio state park system has grown from 30 to 74 parks in 60 counties, with more than 9,000 campsites, according to the Department of Natural Resource. The park system received the 1997 Gold Medal Award for State Parks and Recreation Excellence given by the National Recreation and Parks Association for its facilities and recreational offerings, customer service, management, innovation and relations with the community. It is this dedication to excellence that makes visitors’ experience at Ohio state parks a pleasure.
